The Bulin 47 meme explained
The Bulin 47 meme is a 19-second burst of street energy: a speaker shoved in a rapper’s face at a red-lit entrance, a verse made up on the spot, a crowd laughing along. In October 2026 it became a template the whole internet started remaking.
Where the meme comes from
Dominican dembow artist Bulin 47 was stopped outside a restaurant in Spain by creator Kevin Wai, who played a beat on a portable speaker. Bulin 47 freestyled and danced on the spot. The clip passed 50 million views.
Why it works as a meme
- Anyone can be the lead: the joke lands with any face.
- It is short and loud, perfect for a group chat.
- The moves are easy to recognise: the hand up, the laugh, the shoulders.
- The sound is instantly familiar to anyone who has seen it once.
Formats people post
- Yourself as the lead rapper.
- The loudest friend in the group chat.
- Your dog or cat, freestyling.
- A cartoon character or a mascot.
- Side-by-side: the original next to the AI version.
